A Cool Black Camaro That Perfectly Fits A Cool Black Cat

A cat does not drive. Even if it is a cool black cat. There is no way it can see the road. A cat is too short :) hah! But ... for a black cat owner, a cool black Camaro would surely turn heads.

What do you think? I have eying this car for quite some time already. Since the first time a yellow Chevy Camaro played BumbleBee in the blockbuster movie - Transformers. Two doors, powered with a 304-horsepower direct-injected 3.6-liter V6 engine and the Camaro delivers 25 mpg in EPA-rated highway fuel economy. You could also go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds.

From the look of if, I actually don't need to make any changes to the car in term of cosmetics or performance. The Camaro is already perfect as it is. Maybe a slight changes here and there for long term benefit. Maybe change the car air intake to something that can last longer. Just a simple wash to clean it rather periodically replacing it.

Hmmm ... still thinking about it, but already planning to make some minor changes. The car is really cool. However, the price of the Camaro has always been a factor. The starting price is USD22,680.

Maybe i should get an exotic breed female cat. Get it pregnant, sell the kittens for my Black Camaro fund. How about that? Nah .. I don't think so. Actually I have been saving a little, just a few thousands to go. If everything goes as plan, by January next year I could afford on. And while waiting for that time to come, I am really praying very hard that someone who currently owns one, just simply hate it, buys another car and sell me his one for half the price.

Dream on :)

An Old Lady With Her 130 Cats

As a cat lover, sometimes we tend to be sympathy to stray cats. Sometimes it is very hard to resist not to help them. Whatever you do, don't bring them back home. If you do, one cat may end up 130.

In the long run, you may not have the financial ability.

A Racoon Cat

racoon
It's a story that comes on a day when the national spotlight is on cats left in the wild. This is the story of a cat who thought he was a raccoon.

His name is Rocky, short for Rocky Raccoon, a name given the name by Patricia Melchi after she saw him hanging out with a family of raccoons at Tacoma's Point Defiance Park.

"I realized the kitten had gotten imprinted and was emulating the raccoons, even begging," Melchi said. "I watched him go into the bushes with the raccoons and play with them."

Some folks thought the raccoons had raised the kitten, but Melchi said he was too tame and most likely a lost or abandoned pet.

She figured the cat wouldn't last long in the wild even if the raccoons stayed with him, so she captured him and brought him home.

"Just a scaredy little cat," Melchi said. "But there's a lot of fox and coyotes down there and this thing would be instant prey, even to the owls."

She wanted to get him checked right away so we arranged for the Tacoma Pierce County Humane Society to open up early for a vet check.

"I'm going to look at his teeth first," the vet said. "He's not feral at all."

Rocky checks out OK. Now to see about getting him neutered.

This is all happening on national 'Feral Cat Cay'. Coming up on Oct. 30 in Tacoma there'll be a free spay and neuter clinic to care of those guys.

The group Coalition Humane hopes to spay and neuter 100 feral and free-roaming cats.

"We're really pleasantly surprised at how many of these ferals have been able to come in and be neutered and spayed," said Marguerite Richmond of the Humane Society.

Rocky will be there. In the meantime, he's home with Patricia to continue getting used to hanging with humans instead of rollicking with raccoons.

"Isn't he a cutie? It's okay, don't get too scared," she said to the cat.

If nobody claims Rocky, Patricia says they've already found a home for him.

The free spay and neuter clinic for feral and free roaming cats is Oct. 30 at Coalition Humane in Tacoma.

Kitten In Hot Pursuit Of A Fox

fox
Fulham kitty turns foxy. A woman was shocked to find her kitten in hot pursuit of a fox.

Grandmother Joan Caruana, 73, of Burnthwaite Road, has been worried for over a year about the den of foxes which have taken up residence at the corner of her road near the scout hut.

After her husband Carl died on December 12 last year, her children gave her a black kitten to keep her company, but she started to worry for its safety after seeing the foxes on the prowl.

Yesterday she saw what she thought was a cat chasing a dog - but to the pensioner's surprise, the pursued turned out to be one of the local fox posse - and the pursuer was kitten Chas, who is named after her late husband.

Look the picture above. These 2 guys raised the lion from a baby in England, but the authorities would not allow them to keep it. They were forced o give it up once it reached maturity. They took it back to Africa and placed it in a Wildlife sanctuary. A year later they went to see it.

... and they were told it would not remember them.

White Tigers: The Cruelty Behind the Magic

White tiger is not a sub-species of tiger. It's actually a genetic defect.

In this special edition of Species Spotlight we look at the VERY popular white tiger (which isn't a separate species of tiger.) White tigers in captivity are produced from inbreeding and they actually weaken the captive tiger gene pool and they do nothing to help real conservation of the tiger. We state the first white was found in the 1950's as reports earlier to this may or may not have taken place in India.

*Please urge anyone you see exhibiting white tigers to get them spayed or neutered as we CAN stop this abuse in our generation. Since they bring in $$$, many places breed them, and this has to be stopped in order to put the emphasis back into the real tiger species and into conservation and welfare over simple entertainment.

Cats For Dinner

I read about this last month in The Star newspaper. This is nightmare for cat owners. The authority have to do something about this. If they really need to eat cats. Get those stray ones but don't kidnap our pets.

Fear of pets ending up on platter of foreigners

Pasir Gudang, Johar, Malaysia : Pet lovers at Taman Kota Masai here are keeping their animals off the streets as many have gone missing mysteriously.

What scares them are rumors that drug addicts have been preying on dogs and cats to sell them to foreign workers at RM5 per head.

The pets, or strays, could end up on an alien’s platter.

Faezah Omar, 33, of Jalan Delima, here, said her cat, Tompok, went missing at the end of last year and her neighbour lost two pet rabbits.

"We are not the only victims. Many families in the neighbourhood experienced the same ordeal," she said.

Faezah also pointed out that the number of stray dogs and cats have reduced tremendously lately.

Apart from Taman Kota Masai, residents in Taman Seri Bahagia, Kempas, are also lodging complaints of missing animals with the local council.

One of the residents, Samusa Ibrahim, 43, who used to care for 18 stray cats, said he only had one left and feared the worst.

"We have seen the skins of these animals discarded in rubbish bins. That’s why we believe the animals are cooked and eaten," he said.

Samusa said many houses here were let out to employers who used them as a kongsi for their foreign workers from Vietnam, Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh and Indonesia.

"I do not understand how anyone could 'consume these pet animals," he said.

Samusa urged the authorities to check on the situation and put a stop to the cruelty to animals.

Taman Seri Bahagia has a population of about 1,000 residents staying in double-storey terrace and low-cost single-storey units.

Johor Baru city councillor (Kempas Zone) Abdul Rashid Kasman confirmed that over the past four months there were no stray dogs in the area.

"The city council’s enforcement unit does a routine round-up of stray dogs at this residential area but lately they could not find any," he said.

Abdul Rashid said the unit usually captured about 10 to a dozen stray dogs as Taman Seri Bahagia was considered infested with strays.

He said he had received numerous complaints about the missing strays and pets being eaten by foreign workers.

"The city council is investigating. However there are limits to the kind of action we can take," he said.

Abdul Rashid said MBJB had no authority over stray animals killed for their meat but licensed pet owners should file a formal complaint if their pets were eaten by the foreign workers.

"We could, however, monitor the disposal of the carcass under the health regulations," he said.

How Long Cats live

Cats can live for a very long time, as long as 20 years old. Especially domestic cats. They can live longer because they are tend to if they ever get into a fight or accident. Although the average is between 14 and 20 years old, there is an unverified claim of a 43 year old cat. On 2nd January, 1972, a man living in Dumfriesshire, Scotland claimed that his cat (unnamed) had celebrated its 43rd birthday.

Presents for Cats

It was reported that 37% of cat owners buy presents for their animal friends.

By Mark Sauer
UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER

December 25, 2006

Like so many Americans, Woody Daniels hews to holiday tradition for his family, stuffing two stockings late on Christmas Eve when the house is quiet.

“Winston gets all kinds of gifts, he's so spoiled. He'll get several kinds of treats, a bit of nip, and I'm getting him a stuffed mouse this year so he stops bringing me real ones,” said Daniels, who lives in North Park.

“And Buddy gets new tennis balls, food treats and some toys, including his favorite stuffed hamburger. They don't make that one anymore, so I keep putting the same one in his stocking year after year. He never seems to notice.”

Winston is a cat, Buddy a dog, and their owner is among millions of Americans who are including their pets as part of the family in holiday celebrations.

The 63 percent of U.S. households that own at least one pet will account for an estimated $38.4 billion in spending in 2006, according to the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association.

A significant chunk of that will be spent around the holidays. A survey done by the association found that 55 percent of dog owners and 37 percent of cat owners planned to buy their pets holiday presents this year.

A great deal more money and effort will be invested in cute photos, processing and postage as the holiday greetings of untold numbers of families are sent in the form of cards bearing images not of them or their kids, but of their pets.

And some dogs and cats have somehow initiated gift exchanges.
